Innings pitched not adding correctly

My son plays in a league that has a five-run rule per inning. So if a pitcher gives up 5 runs in an inning, the inning is over. According to league rules, the pitcher should be credited with 1 inning pitched, even if he retired 2 or fewer batters.

We use the "end inning" option from the "misc" menu to finish the inning when a team scores 5 runs. But the pitching stats only credit the pitcher with 0, 1/3, or 2/3's of an inning pitched.

What should we do to end the inning and make sure that the pitcher is credited with a full inning pitched?

Innings Pitched as a statistic is defined as # of outs the pitcher has made divided by 3. When ending an inning early due to the run rule, the pitcher would not be credited with an inning pitched... that would incorrectly give him a better ERA than he truly has.

If your league has an "inning counting" rule or how many innings the player can pitch, that is not the same as the statistical innings pitched and would have to be tracked separately.
